Rupak Sarma, JD
Rupak’s practice focuses on litigation providing creative solutions to complex challenges.
Rupak brings global perspectives gained through living, studying, and working in India, England, Northern Ireland and Canada. He gained experience in management consulting, international marketing, and regulatory compliance before embarking on his legal studies.
He achieved his JD degree at Queen’s University Belfast, UK— a doctorate program where his research focused on Canadian third-party litigation funding. He aspires to help clients navigate ethical third-party litigation funding when money could be a barrier in pursuing meritorious claims. He has presented his research to the Legal Education Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association and various firms. Additionally, Rupak pursued part of his JD degree at the Faculty of Law, University of Alberta, where he served as former Dean Philip Bryden’s research assistant.
He actively volunteers for Lawyers ASSIST, a lawyers helping lawyers movement. He also serves on multiple committees within the Canadian Bar Association. When not working, Rupak indulges in outdoor activities such as exploring trails, golfing and biking. He is a foodie and enjoys coffee conversations, rifle shooting, leather craft, constructing Lego structures and learning about artificial intelligence.
