Tanner is a Partner at SB LLP and works with the Civil Litigation Team. While in law school, he was the first-place winner of the David Strangio Moot in the area of Canadian Constitutional Law.
His primary area of practice is civil litigation, and he handles condominium matters, land development and construction disputes, and human rights complaints. His clients include commercial condominium owners, landowners, and construction companies. Tanner enjoys providing high quality, timely, and cost-effective legal solutions to clients.
Tanner has appeared at the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Additionally, he has appeared before the Refugee Protection Division and has represented litigants at trial in the Alberta Court of Justice.
Tanner is currently on the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton’s Board of Directors and acts as Chair of the Governance Committee. In the past, he has volunteered for the Team for Success Program, the Edmonton ITU Triathlon, and Ronald’s Readers.
Tanner is a former Alberta Midget Hockey League first-team all-star and recipient of the Bill Ranford Trophy as the top goaltender in the Province of Alberta. He also has experience playing in the Western Hockey League, Alberta Junior Hockey League, and British Columbia Hockey League.
Tanner remains an avid hockey fan and has used his experience to volunteer for Hockey Alberta by assisting with Alberta Cup tryouts in Edmonton. He also enjoys tennis and travelling.
